This was my second Indaba only, even though I’ve been in this industry for over 21 years. Pulse Africa has the fabulous philosophy of growing their staff and keeping them in the sun and happy.
Last year I hit the ground running after missing my evening flight (that bit about travel agents making the worst passengers). All about a brand new surname and an old ID book…
Anyway this year, I knew the lie of the land and I decided that the meetings I scheduled needed to give me what we need to grow and expand our business and to suck the very marrow of information out of every person I met.
I am passionate about learning and meeting people so you couldn’t really get a better platform than Indaba. Every half hour was a new learning experience and every handshake, exchange of business card and genuine love for this industry put me in a happier state of mind.
Indaba is busy, it can be very hot and you walk and talk a lot. But it’s what you put in to each meeting and the new contacts made and contacts rekindled that make it what it is.
There are lovely evening events, lots of wine, lots of laughs and an overriding feeling that I could not have chosen a better career path for myself. And I pinch myself daily that I work at Pulse Africa. As I’ve said before, I’m a lucky, happy girl!
