One of Kenya’s biggest draw cards is the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and antelope between the Masaai Mara and the Serengeti. It is known as one of the Seven wonders of the World.
This year marks the 17th annual migration of a very different kind; an unusual event that takes place on a single day, 5,500 ft above sea level in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. It is protected by over 100 armed rangers, spotted by 3 helicopters, spectated by rhinos, giraffes, zebras and lions and has about 1400 participants.
Pulse Africa, joined by Nomad Tanzania and a team of entrepeneurs (known as #wazee4wildlife), are very excited to not only bear witness to this unique event but to be participating in what has been coined the ‘ultimate bucket list challenge’…..Tusk’s 2017 Safaricom Marathon.
Since its inception in 2000, Tusk’s Safaricom Marathon has raised US$ 5 million which has been used in community development, education, healthcare, and wildlife conservation initiatives across Kenya.
