I’ve just spent the two most incredible days at the newly reopened Tintswalo Atlantic in Cape Town.
From the moment I arrived and was driven down to the hotel I could see immediately that I’d arrived somewhere very special. The drive down to the hotel is nothing short of spectacular with the most beautiful views over Hout Bay looking across to Signal Hill.
There are a total of twelve suites, including a presidential suite. Each is individually decorated and named after a specific island. All are very spacious with private decks and beautiful en-suite bathrooms.
We were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to spend some time with the owners of the hotel, Ernest and Gaynor, as well as their daughter Lisa and her husband Warrick who are both very much involved in the family business. Ernest told us of their humble beginnings and how, through sheer determination and creative thinking, they’ve created a property empire over the course of the last thirty years. I was really moved by how down to earth the whole family is and how welcome you are made to feel.
We were wined and dined, and I can honestly say, with some of the best food I’ve ever eaten at any property. The staff are wonderful and really go out of their way to make sure that your every whim is catered for and that you feel at home.
When you are next headed to Cape Town, be sure to pay Tintswalo Atlantic a visit.
