Animals

About

If animals are high on your list of things to see then Africa will not disappoint. Kenya and Tanzania will treat you to the largest herds of migrating wildebeest whilst Uganda and Rwanda will offer treks to the magnificent mountain gorilla. The Okavango Delta is a wet playground for large herds of elephant and graceful waterbuck and Namibia a vast desert home to wild horses and ‘white’ elephant. There is so much to see when it comes to wildlife in Africa that deciding where to go will be your biggest hurdle.

Gorilla Trekking

Head into Africa’s emerald forests and you’ll be rewarded with one of the most profound, humbling and enriching wildlife encounters. For the best gorilla trekking in the world, head into the lush forests and mountains of Uganda and Rwanda. These countries shelter over half of the planet’s remaining mountain gorilla population in their natural habitat.

Migration

Every year, almost 2 million wildebeest and zebra migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara on a seasonal journey looking for fresh water and new grazing grounds. The animals risk their lives as they cross crocodile-infested waters on their treacherous odyssey. This great spectacle of nature is truly phenomenal to behold and is undoubtedly one for the bucket list.
