A Room With A View

The team at Conde Nast have scoured the world for The Best Views and have found some real gems,  a few of which are now on my bucket list.

However, we have found a few others that we think our clients should know about.

Loisaba Tented Camp (Kenya)

Loisaba Tented Camp

Perched on the edge of an escarpment, Loisaba Tented Camp capitalizes on unhindered views across Laikipia’s dreamy landscape all the way to Mt Kenya. The inside / outside feel of the tents breaks down the barriers of traditional accommodation and opens you up to the expanse of Africa.

Arriving at the camp you almost feel like you’ve been transported back in time to the Out of Africa era. You are faced with miles of nothing but nature;  no city lights, no noise, no civilization (or so it seems). You would be forgiven for wanting to chain yourself to the tent pole and set up permanent residence here – I know that’s exactly how I felt.

Angama Mara (Kenya)

Angama Mara

Deservedly voted Africa’s top resort in the Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards 2018, Angama Mara has got everything right. Seemingly suspended high above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, this luxury lodge offers uninterrupted views across the magical plains of the Maasai Mara.

I am sure that you have heard people say that Africa gets in your blood; a concept that many find hard to imagine. Spend a night at Angama Mara and I can almost guarantee that you will understand what they mean.

I mean really, sharing your favourite drink with your favourite person on this deck with that view……. how much better can it possibly get?

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (Tanzania)

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

It is said that Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is where Versailles meets Maasai; a lodge of dramatic contrasts. Oppulent, almost theatrical interiors transport you to a lavish French chateau of a bygone era, until you look outside, that is.

Open your windows to a fantasy world of the lush, green, wildlife-rich Ngorongoro crater floor, low-lying, swirling clouds and early morning blankets of mist. Views like this will certainly make you feel like you’ve been transported to another world.

Virunga Lodge (Rwanda)

A mountain retreat overlooking the Volcanoes National Park and the beautiful lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera. Is it just me or could this be an opening scene for the next Jurassic Park movie?

You won’t be looking out onto your usual African plains here, but rather a fascinating combination of misty mountains, distant lakes and luscious forests that hide the mysteriously magnificent mountain gorillas. If this lodge isn’t on your bucket-list, it should be!

The above are just a few examples of what you can expect to see on a Pulse Africa designed safari.
