Wellness
About
A wellness holiday can mean so many different things. It could mean spending time at a health farm, eating food straight from the garden and taking long walks by the lake. Or it could mean waking up every morning and doing a yoga session while watching the sun rise over the Indian Ocean. It could even mean playing golf at some of the most famous and most beautiful courses in Africa. Whatever a wellness holiday means to you, we have no doubt that you will find it in Africa.
Yoga
Want to get in touch with your core? Meditate and breathe deeply? Challenge yourself to a downward facing dog on a stand-up paddle board? Then why not try a yoga class – now offered at many lodges, or a yoga retreat in the middle of the African bush? Invigorating for both your mental and physical health, the many poses of a yoga session will make you feel toned, refreshed and relaxed.
Golf
Golf is a very popular pastime in Africa, fueled by many famous internationally-renowned players such as Ernie Els and Gary Player. While Kenya and Mauritius offer tourists a fine selection of mainly resort-style golf courses, some of the best 18-holes are found in South Africa. Leopard Creek, adjacent to the Kruger National Park repeatedly is at the top of the list, followed by the Links course at Fancourt and the Arabella Golf Club, both in the Western Cape. We can craft a circuit of golf courses for you to play on, with your own tailor-made golf tour. Many of these beautiful courses are on resorts which provide first-class spas and serene settings in case your travel companion would rather be pampered -or watch “birdies” rather than play them!
Spa
Many resorts now feature spa treatments on their premises. What a perfect way to relax after an early game drive or a day of sight-seeing. Pamper yourself with a sauna, steam, wrap, massage, mask or nail treatment. Or all of the above! Enjoy the view while you get spoiled.
